How Home Inspectors can Help Protect their Clients from Flooding is a free, 1.5 hour, self-directed, online training course that has been developed based on four years of community-based flood protection research by the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion that can be applied as continuing education credits where applicable.

Inspectors who complete the course will bring value add to their clients by being able to explain in clear and simple terms why flood losses are on the rise across Canada, the different types of flooding that can impact homes and the practical actions clients can take to protect their homes from flooding. The goal of the training course is to provide the foundation for productive conversations with clients about taking action to install simple at home adaptation practices and installations to help reduce the likelihood of a future flood loss.
